MUSCAT: Oman has launched the national digital initiative 'Oman... The State and The Human' in conjunction with the 55th National Day—the first celebration following the formal designation of November 20 as the country’s official National Day.
The initiative highlights a historic milestone dating back to 1744, the founding of the Al Busaid State, underscoring the continuity and strength of the modern Omani state across centuries.
Designed as a multilingual, AI-powered platform, the initiative introduces global audiences to Oman’s identity and statehood through three key features:
A concise historical narrative on the Al Busaid State and its civilisational contributions.
A multilingual greeting service where visitors send National Day messages in their native languages; an AI assistant reads and converts them into refined Arabic.
A live world map displaying the origin of each greeting as it arrives, reflecting global engagement with the national occasion.
Project lead Hamood bin Mohammed al Azri said the initiative offers a modern gateway for sharing Oman’s story with the world, in cooperation with national entities and Omani embassies abroad.
Technical lead Dr Saeed al Rashdi noted that the platform aligns with the digital transformation vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and features a scalable architecture that can expand to include more languages and services.
