MoH launches public consultation on Drug Safety Centre guidelines

Muscat: The Ministry of Health announced the launch of a public consultation aimed at collecting community feedback on two key guidance documents issued by the Drug Safety Centre. The initiative comes as part of the ministry’s commitment to strengthening public participation in the development and enhancement of healthcare services.

According to the ministry, the consultation invites members of the public to review and comment on the Guidance for Public Consultation on Drug Safety Centre Publications as well as the Guidance for Drug Advertising and Awareness. The documents are intended to enhance clarity, transparency and regulatory alignment in matters related to drug safety and pharmaceutical communication.

The ministry noted that public participation will help ensure the guidelines are comprehensive, clear and reflective of international best practices. Feedback submitted through the consultation process will also serve to reinforce trust between the community and the regulatory authority.

The consultation for the Drug Safety Centre publications guideline will remain open until November 24, while responses related to the drug advertising and awareness guideline may be submitted until  December 10.

The Ministry of Health encouraged all stakeholders and members of the community to take part in shaping the future of healthcare services, emphasising that public input plays a vital role in strengthening regulatory frameworks and improving service quality.
