Al Murooj School opened its doors to a vibrant world of colour, creativity and inspiration through its exhibition titled ‘Colours and Wood’ recently. The event beautifully combined natural materials with artistic imagination, transforming simple wooden objects into expressive works of art.
The exhibition encouraged students to explore new artistic possibilities using wood as a canvas. Participants experimented with paint, texture and form to produce unique pieces that reflected their creativity and skill. From hand-painted cooking spoons and forks to colourful decorative items, each piece showcased how ordinary materials can be turned into extraordinary creations.
What made the exhibition stand out was its celebration of creativity through simplicity. Students used every day wooden kitchen materials and transformed them into vibrant, vintage-style pieces painted in diverse colours and patterns. The artworks carried a deeper message of sustainability, innovation and the joy of creating something meaningful from simple beginnings.
The event’s success was the result of teamwork and dedication. It was organised by Activities Coordinators Ameera Baamer and Amina Baamer, with guidance from Art Teachers Maryam al Mahd, Ameera al Kaifi and Maysa al Nasri. The exhibition was held under the supervision of School Principal Tofool Jaboob, who continues to encourage initiatives that nurture creativity and collaboration.
Teachers, parents and visitors admired the variety and detail in the artworks, creating a warm and inspiring atmosphere where students proudly shared their creations.
More than just an art show, ‘Colours and Wood’ was a celebration of imagination, patience and the power of turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
