MUSCAT, NOV 4
Oman’s Al Nahda will aim to secure their first win in the 2025–2026 AGCFF Gulf Cup Champions League as they will host Yemen’s Tadhamon Hadhramout on Wednesday in the third round of Group B fixtures. The highly anticipated match will kick off at 6 pm at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
Al Buraimi-based side heads into the contest determined to convert their positive performances into a full three points after drawing both of their two matches. Al Nahda began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab in Riyadh, followed by another 1-1 stalemate against Qatar’s Al Rayyan in Muscat on October 23.
Currently, Al Nahda are positioned third in the group standings with two points. Al Rayyan lead Group B with four points, followed by Tadhamon Hadhramout in second with three points, while Al Shabab are in fourth place with one point. A victory on Wednesday could see Al Nahda climb to the top of the group, depending on the result of the other fixture between Al Rayyan and Al Shabab in Doha.
Head coach Naseef al Biawi's battalion is in full readiness mentally and physically to deliver a strong performance. The Omani side will rely on several key players including national team goalkeeper Fayez al Rushaidi, midfield maestro Harib al Saadi and attacking talents Ahed al Mashakheyi and Hamed al Habsi. The team’s professional players including Keebama Odeiev, Beri Olomo, and others are also expected to play a crucial role in leading Al Nahda’s attacking charge. The team will have an advantage of playing the match at home with fans support.
Al Nahda will enter the continental clash in excellent domestic form, having recently defeated Sur 4–2 in the Jindal League. The win maintained their position at the top of the domestic standings with 13 points, underscoring their consistency and confidence heading into regional competition.
Meanwhile, Tadhamon Hadhramout arrived in Muscat full of confidence following their 2–0 victory over Al Shabab in the previous round. The result revitalised their qualification hopes after a tough opening defeat against Al Rayyan.
Under the guidance of Saudi head coach Bandar Basareeh, the Yemeni side will look to build on their momentum, with key players such as Ali al Jamal, Nadir Sahal, Amara Baghaukyu and Adil Abbas expected to feature prominently.
