Oman finish runner-up at 6th West Asia bodybuilding championship

Oman’s bodybuilders and physique team members delivered an outstanding performance at the 6th West Asia Bodybuilding and Physique Championship which concluded recently in Bahrain.
The national team finished second overall with a total of 286 points and an impressive 24 medals, including eight gold, ten silver and six bronze, finishing just behind the UAE with 317 points while the hosts Bahrain placed third and followed by Syria and Saudi Arabia.
The three days event in Manama city featured participation of over 200 athletes representing national federations and residents from across the West Asian region, highlighting an exceptional level of competition.
Oman’s athletes once again showcased their strength and dedication and managed to climb the podium repeatedly and proudly raising the Sultanate of Oman’s flag as the national anthem was played eight times in honour of their victories.
STRONG SHOW IN PHYSIQUE
In the Physique Youth division, Abdulmajeed al Raisi clinched the gold medal, while Abdullah al Amri secured the silver. In the Men’s 170 cm category, al Amri earned another silver, and Ghanim al Maamari took the bronze. In the 182 cm category, Sultan al Yahyai and Al Khaleel al Busaidy claimed silver and bronze, respectively.
In the Open Physique division, Muneer al Luwaihi triumphed with gold, and Mohammed Bahadoor followed with silver. Meanwhile, Fayyadh al Maamari earned silver in the Classic Physique Open category.
DOMINANCE IN BODYBUILDING
Oman’s dominance continued in the Bodybuilding categories as Imran al Zadjali started with silver in the Youth class. Ibrahim al Shanini struck gold in the 171 cm division while Issa Khalfan claimed bronze in 175 cm. Veteran bodybuilder Ahmed al Hadidi won gold in the Masters category.
In the Youth Open, Fayyadh al Maamari added silver, while Imran al Zadjali took bronze. Moath al Shukaili earned bronze in the 70 kg class. Ahmed al Hadidi captured another gold in the 80 kg category, followed by Haitham al Zadjali with bronze. In the 85 kg class, Ali al Maamari secured gold and Abdullah al Maamari won silver. Asaad al Siyabi took silver in the 90 kg category, while Salim al Riyami capped Oman’s campaign with gold in the 90+ kg division and Mohammed al Ajmi earned silver in the same category.
