Majlis A'Shura to begin its third regular session on November 9

 

Muscat - Based on the supreme orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Majlis A'Shura will begin its third ordinary session (2024-2025) of the tenth term (2023-2027) on Sunday, November 9, in accordance with the provisions of Article (41) of the  Council of Oman Law.

The Shura continues to perform its legislative and oversight roles in an effective partnership with state institutions, within the framework of continuing to implement the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, noting that the first half of the tenth term witnessed the discussion of 47 draft laws and agreements, and 466 follow-up tools, in addition to the agreement of the two councils on 14 draft laws, of which royal decrees issued 13 regulations.

The work of the third session will include a discussion of the state’s general budget for 2026 and the eleventh five-year development plan (2026-2030), as well as electing members of the council’s office for the second half of the tenth term and discussing various draft laws and agreements.

The Shura will hold its annual media meeting on November 5 to enhance communication with the media, emphasizing the Shura’s commitment to providing information and strengthening community partnerships, in line with its role in following up on national issues and supporting development efforts across various sectors.
