Muscat: The head coach of the Oman Olympic national football team, Badr al Maimani, has announced the squad for the internal training camp to be held in Muscat Governorate from November 2 to 18, as part of the intensive preparations ahead of the upcoming Gulf Cup for Under-23 national teams, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from December 4 to 16.
The tournament draw is expected to take place on November 4, at the headquarters of the Gulf Football Federation in Doha at 1 pm, via video conferencing (Zoom), with the participation of representatives from the Gulf national teams, as well as Iraq and Yemen.
The squad announced by Al Maimani includes 26 players: Jowad bin Khalifa al Ezi, Said bin Ghasib al Ghanbousi, Eyad bin Khamis al Maliki, Muhannad bin Mubarak al Saadi, Adnan bin Khamis al Mashaifri, Fahd bin Khamis al Mukhaini (Seeb), Yasar bin Said al Balushi, Masoud bin Saif al Bahri, Ghassan bin Musa al Masrouri, Yousuf bin Ali al Shibeibi, Majid bin Ramadan al Farsi (Al Shabab), Abdullah bin Mubarak al Jabri, Al Harith bin Jumaa al Mashaikhi (Al Amerat), Khalid bin Faisal Beit al Habshi, Ahmed bin Muslim al Shanfari (Dhofar), Ghazi bin Gharib al Saadi, Anas bin Suhail al Ghadani (Al Musannah), Said bin Salih al Ghailani (Sur), Abdullah bin Ali al Maqbali (Sohar), Al Muatassem bin Ahmed Beit Bakoor (Al Nasr), Said bin Suleiman al Alawi (Al Nahda), Ibrahim bin Said al Kindi (Bahla), Ziad bin Ahmed al Mahfoudhi (Al Rustaq), Bashar bin Talib al Maharbi (Samayil), Azzan bin Yousuf al Qutaiti (Al Khabourah) and Oday bin Jameel al Mashaikhi (Bidiyah).
Meanwhile, the Oman Football Association, in coordination with the Olympic team’s technical staff, is studying the possibility of organising a four-nation international friendly tournament in Muscat. The tournament would serve as a key preparatory test for the Olympic team ahead of the U23 Gulf Cup in Doha, helping to boost the players’ readiness and enhance their technical and physical preparation before the regional challenge.
