MUSCAT: Week three of the 2025–2026 Youth Basketball League witnessed intense and exciting competition, resulting in four well-deserved victories for Nizwa, Qurayat (twice), and Masirah. The matches were played at the secondary indoor hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
NIZWA DOMINATE SAHAM
Nizwa opened the round with a convincing 63–17 win over Saham, delivering a complete performance and maintaining control over all four periods thanks to the players’ high focus, experience, and tactical skills.
Niel Adki starred for Nizwa with 22 points, followed by Wael al Busaidy with 9 points, and Al Khidr al Obaidani with 6 points. For Saham, Abdulqadir al Balushi scored 6 points.
Period scores were as follows 1st , 26–6 for Nizwa, 2nd, 10–5 for Nizwa (Halftime: 36–11), 3rd 15–1 for Nizwa, and 4th quarter, 12–5 for Nizwa
The match was officiated by Wahab al Sanani and Ghalib al Hasani.
QURAYAT OVERCOME SALALAH
In the second match, Qurayat claimed an important 41–37 victory over Salalah after a fluctuating encounter. Qurayat imposed their superiority early, taking the first two quarters 13–3 and 10–9 to lead 23–12 at halftime.
Salalah responded strongly in the third quarter, narrowing the gap with a 17–6 run. However, Qurayat sealed the win in the final moments thanks to the strong performance of their key players. Top scorers for Qurayat were Motaz al Sinani with 12 points, Khamis al Sinani with 10 points, and Saeed Hussain with 6 points. For Salalah, Hazeek Zizdan shone with 17 points, and Murshid Bait Sanasel added 12 points. The game was refereed by Taha al Amri and Ghalib al Hasani.


MASIRAH SNATCH A THRILLING WIN AGAINST SEEB
In the most exciting match of the round, Masirah snatched a precious 52–51 victory over Seeb after a dramatic back-and-forth game.
Masirah led the first quarter 13–7 and continued their momentum into the second with a 10–8 advantage. Seeb then shifted the tide in the third quarter with a dominant 27–11 run. However, Masirah staged a strong comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 18 points to Seeb’s 9, sealing the win by a single point.
Masirah’s scoring was led by Rashid al Issa and Khuzayma al Shibli with 15 points each, and Abdulrahman al Rashidi with 12 points. For Seeb, Malik Mohammed excelled with 26 points, while Jaid al Kindi scored 10 and Saif al Mughairi 6. The match was officiated by Ali al Salmani and Al Mahdi al Alawi.
QURAYAT EARN SECOND WIN, DEFEAT AL BASHAYER
The round concluded with a second victory for Qurayat, this time in dominant fashion with a 53–9 win over Al Bashayer, after a commanding performance throughout all quarters.
Qurayat’s top scorers were Motaz al Sinani with 21 points, Khamis al Sinani with 12 points, and Tamim al Hadi with 10 points.
Period scores in the First quarter 12–2 for Qurayat, 2nd 22–0 (Halftime: 34–2), 3rd 13–4 for Qurayat, and the 4th quarter 6–3 for Qurayat.
