Agreements mark the first day of Duqm Economic Forum

The second edition of the Duqm Economic Forum 2025 started under the theme 'Duqm Leads Change,' with more than 400  

The CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) said in his speech that the volume of investments committed to the zone by the middle of this year has been over RO6.3 billion.

The forum also witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding (MoUs). The first is to develop an integrated tourism, residential, and commercial project in Duqm, and the second is to develop strategic cooperation between the Port of Duqm Company and the Japanese shipping company - Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha - also known as NYK Line in the areas of maritime transport and port infrastructure.

The forum witnessed the signing of three agreements - the construction and operation of facilities for storing petroleum and chemical products; the establishment and management of a company specializing in supply chain management for the energy sector; and the construction of a social complex for Marafeq Duqm using 3D printing technology.

The two-day forum will discuss three main themes: integrated tourism and lifestyle development; green manufacturing and renewable industries; and smart cities powered by artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) indicated that the zone's growth rate reached 5.3 percent by the middle of this year, compared to 2024, and 71.8 percent by the end of 2022.
