MANAMA: Oman’s national junior golf team has advanced to the final stages of the Asian Youth Games 2025, currently taking place in Bahrain.
After two highly competitive rounds, the talented trio secured their place among Asia’s best, marking another milestone for Omani golf on the international stage.
Representing Oman are Mahir Sampat, Adam al Barwani, and Pransh Jagwani, who have showcased remarkable composure, consistency, and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. Competing against elite junior golfers from across the continent, Team Oman continues to build on its growing reputation and success.
Earlier this year, the same team clinched the Team Gold Medal at the GCC Golf Championship in Saudi Arabia — a historic triumph that underscored Oman’s emergence as a rising force in regional golf. Their strong performance at the Asian Youth Games further cements their standing as one of the most promising junior squads in the region.
Organised under the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the Asian Youth Games serve as a premier platform for young athletes to gain international experience and exposure across multiple sporting disciplines.

The Omani contingent is guided by Jonathan Bartlett, Head Coach and Golf Programmes Director, whose strategic leadership continues to shape the nation’s next generation of golfers through focused training and structured development programmes.
Accompanying the delegation are Nikhil Sampat and Ahmed al Jahdhami, representing the Oman Golf Association (OGA), who have been instrumental in supporting and mentoring the players throughout the Games.
Ahmed al Jahdhami, representing OGA, commended the team’s performance: “We are extremely proud of our young golfers for qualifying into the final stages of the Asian Youth Games. Mahir, Adam and Pransh have displayed outstanding focus, determination, and professionalism while competing against some of Asia’s finest junior players. Their continued success — following their gold medal at the GCC Championship — reflects the growing strength of youth golf in Oman and the impact of our long-term development programmes.”
Team Oman’s progress at the Asian Youth Games underscores the OGA’s commitment to nurturing young golfing talent through elite coaching, structured pathways, and international exposure — signalling a bright and promising future for the sport within Oman.
