The Omani Women’s Association in Al Khabourah hosted the ‘Women Leaders: Entrepreneurship and Empowerment’ Forum, marking the wilayat’s first-ever leadership forum dedicated to nurturing women leaders.
The event brought together an inspiring mix of participants — government officials, school principals, entrepreneurs and leaders of community initiatives — all united by a shared goal of advancing women’s leadership and sustainable empowerment.
Held under the auspices of Dr Hanifa bint Ahmed al Qassimiyah, Member of the State Council, the forum highlighted the achievements of women in Al Khabourah and their growing contributions to national progress. “This forum reflects the impressive achievements of women leaders and entrepreneurs in Al Khabourah,” said Dr Al Qassimi. “It stands as evidence of the ability of institutions to lead positive change through innovative and purposeful initiatives.”
In a creative opening, the event began with a welcoming speech delivered by an AI-powered smart persona, symbolising the fusion of technology and leadership in today’s era. The programme featured diverse workshops and presentations covering leadership skills, self-awareness, decision-making and strategic planning. Sessions also explored teamwork, innovation and the role of community engagement in driving women’s initiatives forward.
Moza al Housni, Head of the Omani Women’s Association in Al Khabourah, emphasised that the forum aimed to enhance participants’ leadership capacities while building a network of empowered women aligned with Oman Vision 2040. “We aim to create a community of capable leaders who actively contribute to national development,” she said.
Dr Yasmeen al Balushi, Senior Adviser at the Royal Academy of Leadership and keynote speaker, delivered an inspiring address on ‘Leadership and the Power of Influence.’ She underscored that “true empowerment begins with self-belief and a commitment to continuous growth.”
Another highlight was the workshop conducted by Maha al Maqbali, Executive Director of the Oman Training Institute, who discussed the enablers of women’s leadership and effective planning for community-based initiatives.
The forum concluded with an exchange of reflections and experiences, reaffirming a collective vision to strengthen women’s roles in leadership and innovation across Oman.
