MUSCAT: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has announced the launch of the tender for the infrastructure and industrial complexes project at Madha Industrial City in the Wilayat of Madha, Musandam Governorate. The project marks a major step in expanding Madayn’s network of industrial cities, which aim to generate jobs, stimulate entrepreneurship and attract investment through advanced infrastructure and competitive incentives.
Engineer Saleh bin Salman al Abri, Director General of Facilities and Infrastructure at Madayn, stated that the project will fully develop Madha Industrial City, which covers an area of 359,414 square metres. It includes the construction of internal roads, water, electricity, sewage networks and other essential facilities.
He added that six industrial spaces will be established under the Madayn Entrepreneurial Clusters initiative in cooperation with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. This initiative seeks to empower local entrepreneurs by providing ready-built facilities and support services that enable innovation and business growth.
Since the Royal directive of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik during his visit to Musandam Governorate in January 2024 to establish an industrial city in Saih Al Wasat, Madayn has completed the general detailed plan, final designs and consulting studies such as soil, traffic and topographical assessments. These efforts culminated in the preparation of the tender documents for the implementation of the project.
Al Abri affirmed that Madha Industrial City is envisioned to drive economic growth, enhance service delivery, complete infrastructure requirements and strengthen private sector participation. It will also create more employment opportunities for citizens while contributing to non-oil revenues and supporting Oman Vision 2040.
He stressed that securing critical infrastructure — particularly power, water, roads and telecommunications — is key to ensuring sustainable industrial and agricultural growth. Madha Industrial City is expected to become a catalyst for balanced regional development and a hub for innovation-driven investments. — ONA
