Women have undertaken big role in national action

Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidy, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, on Thursday delivered a speech on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day, which falls on October 17 annually. She congratulated Omani and resident women on this occasion.
The speech read as follows: “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Dear mothers and sisters, honourable brothers, dear sons,
May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah the Almighty be upon you all.
The Omani women have proven, throughout their history, to be a source of wisdom and generosity. Women are the mothers who instill values in hearts and the wise grandmothers who preserve the legacy and pass it on to their grandchildren. They are the devoted daughters who confidently pursue the paths of knowledge and leadership. From these families, generations have emerged who have raised the Sultanate of Oman’s flag high in the fields of excellence and innovation.
On this blessed day, October 17 which represents the Omani Women’s Day, we are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations and sincere wishes to all Omani women and resident women who serve this beloved nation. It is a day of pride for all Omani women, a day on which we appreciate the wisdom, patience, devotion and loyalty women have displayed which placed women as a fundamental pillar of the renaissance, guardians of value and makers of strong generations.
As we mark the Omani Women’s Day today, we honour them with a tribute befitting their stature and reflecting their illustrious achievements in education, management and leadership, economy, innovation and in serving society and building the nation. This honour bestowed upon an elite of distinguished women is a true symbol that encompasses all Omani women, in every position and field, in appreciation and recognition of their continuous giving and unwavering determination.
Dear citizens of our beloved country: We are all aware of the challenges facing women, families, and children in this rapidly changing era, where knowledge is changing, technology is transforming and issues are intertwined. Despite these challenges, we in the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, pay great attention to this issue. We believe that the Omani women are capable of overcoming difficulties as they are armed with true values and principles, supported by their leadership and society, and as true partners to the men who support them in their mission. When a man supports a woman, he supports an entire nation and protects an entire society.
My loyal sons and daughters: Raising you on religion and values, protecting you from the dangers of our time, and nurturing you with knowledge and education is a great responsibility that cannot be neglected. So be good role models and good examples, and be true ambassadors for the Sultanate of Oman. Be aware that truth has only one face that is unambiguous and that honesty has a straight path that never goes astray.
Dear brothers and sisters: Omani women, with the help of Allah the Almighty, will remain a shining beacon in the nation’s present and a solid pillar in its future, advancing with confident steps toward broader horizons, preserving their authenticity, open to the world’s opportunities, and loyal to Oman and its beloved leader, His Majesty the Sultan .
We pray to Allah the Almighty to preserve the Sultanate of Oman and keep it safe and prosperous, and to perpetuate glory, honour, and pride for its women and men. May you all be well and prosperous every year. — ONA
