MUSCAT: The Royal Cavalry of Oman continued their impressive run on European racecourses, claiming both first and second places at the Tarbes Racecourse in France, as part of the ongoing series of purebred Arabian horse races.
In the sixth race, an open class event for purebred Arabian horses over 1600 metres, the mare Sawarem clinched first place under jockey Michael Forest and trainer Fredric Sanchez, showcasing remarkable speed and composure in the final stretch.
Meanwhile, the mare Al Safanat finished second in the fourth race, also an open class contest for purebred Arabians over 1500 metres, ridden by Michael Forest and trained by Elisabeth Bernard.
This latest triumph adds to a series of strong performances by the Royal Cavalry throughout the current European season. Earlier this year, Al Safinat won at Chantilly Racecourse in June, while the mare Al Nahda impressed with a third place finish at Deauville in August, these consistent results highlight the steady progress and competitive strength of Omani horses on the international stage.
The Royal Cavalry are preparing for their next appearance at Toulouse Racecourse in mid of November, marking the final leg of the European racing season, the upcoming event is expected to attract top class Arabian horses from across the region, promising high level competition.
These achievements reflect the Royal Cavalry’s dedication to excellence and the continuous support extended to equestrian sports in Oman, a commitment that continues to elevate Oman’s presence and reputation in prestigious international racing arenas.
