Muscat, Seeb closer to Junior Handball League final

MUSCAT: Muscat Club, the defending champion and Seeb Club have taken a major step toward reaching the final of the Oman Junior Handball League for the 2025/2026 season after earning important victories in the first leg semifinal matches held earlier this week.
In the first match, played at the Nizwa Sports Complex, Muscat claimed a hard fought 23–21 win over Nizwa in an intense and closely contested encounter, both teams entered the match with the same ambition to secure an advantage ahead of the decisive return leg, the first half ended in a tight 11–11 draw, reflecting the balance and determination on both sides.
The second half witnessed heightened intensity as both teams pushed for control, Muscat managed to maintain composure in the crucial final minutes, showing superior focus and shooting accuracy to seal the 23–21 victory and take a valuable lead heading into the return fixture.
Meanwhile, in the second semifinal played at Seeb Sports Hall, Seeb demonstrated clear dominance over Ahli Sidab, cruising to a comfortable 26–17 victory, Seeb took early control of the match, finishing the first half with a 14–9 lead and continued their strong form in the second half, using their physical strength and tactical awareness to widen the gap and secure a confident win.
The second leg matches are scheduled for Friday, October 24, both games will be hosted at Seeb Sports Hall, with Muscat facing Nizwa, followed by Seeb’s clash against Ahli Sidab, the winners of these ties will advance to the league final, set to take place on October 29 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
The losing teams will compete for third place in what promises to be another round of high energy, competitive fixtures, with all four teams still eyeing a spot in the final, fans can expect intense battles and top level performances as the Junior Handball League nears its exciting conclusion.
