The Oman Basketball Association (OBA) has approved the schedule for the preliminary round of the Junior Basketball League for the 2025–2026 sports season, which will kick off on Friday, with the participation of eight clubs. The matches will be played across five venues: the secondary hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, Sohar Sports Complex, Nizwa Sports Complex, Al Seeb Club Hall, and Al Amal Club.
The eight participating clubs have been divided into two groups. Group A includes Seeb, Nizwa, Masirah and Saham, while Group B consists of Al Amerat, Salalah, Qurayat and Al Bashayer.
The competition will follow a double round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. The first-place team of Group A will face the second-place team of Group B, and vice-versa. The losers of the semifinals will compete for third place, while the winners will play for the championship title and runner-up position.

The Junior Basketball League is one of the key age-group competitions in Omani basketball. The OBA organises it annually alongside the Youth League, General League, Super Cup and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Shield, with the goal of expanding the sport’s base, encouraging clubs to form youth teams and developing national basketball talent capable of raising the overall competitive level of the game in the Sultanate of Oman.
