Dhalkut records highest rainfall in September: Oman Meteorology

 

The Oman Meteorology Office released the monthly climate statistics for September 2025, highlighting variations in temperature and rainfall across the Sultanate of Oman.

According to the report, Dhalkut in Dhofar Governorate recorded the highest amount of precipitation during September, with 125 mm. Other notable readings included 52.4 mm in Jabal Shams, 41.2 mm in Qayroon Hairiti, 39.6 mm in Saiq, and 38.4 mm in Yanqul.

The report showed that the highest recorded temperature during the month was 47.0°C in Hamra al Duru, followed by 46.7°C in Umm al Tabool, 46.2°C in Fahoud, and 45.8°C in both Maqshan and al Zamayem.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperatures were observed in Jabal Shams at 11.4°C, followed by Saiq (15.4°C), Qayroon Hairiti (18.1°C), Jabal Harim (19.3°C), and al Hamra (19.5°C).

The Met Office also reported variations in the average monthly temperatures across different stations. The data showed that Al Buraimi recorded an increase of +0.8°C above the monthly average, while Rustaq registered no change. Suhar and Masirah showed slight deviations of +0.4°C and +0.3°C.

Additionally, the report noted that the highest temperature ever recorded for September was 45.2°C, observed at Bahla station in 2019, the highest for that month since the year 2000.

The Met Office said that such climate data are derived from long-term monitoring at meteorological stations across the country and are used to assess variations in temperature and precipitations.
