Oman and Belarus enter new chapter to boost relations

 

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left the Republic of Belarus on Tuesday, following a two-day state visit.

President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus led the farewell party for His Majesty the Sultan at Minsk International Airport.

His Majesty the Sultan was also seen off by Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and some senior Belarusian officials.

Upon his departure, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks to President Lukashenko.

In the cable, His Majesty expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality.

His Majesty lauded the outcomes of his meeting with the Belarusian President, as it was an opportunity to enhance areas of cooperation, promote the advanced relations and opening new vistas for partnership and investment in a manner that serves the joint interests. His Majesty the Sultan wished President Lukashenko success to achieve further aspirations of progress and prosperity for the Belarusian people.

His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during the visit by a high-ranking official delegation that comprised HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamed bin Said al Aufi, Head of Private Office of His Majesty the Sultan, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Hamoud bin Salim al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and Non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus. — ONA
