MUSCAT: The Omani-Bahraini Economic Forum, organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), highlighted new opportunities to strengthen joint investment and economic cooperation across key sectors such as construction, real estate, finance, energy, food, technology, healthcare, retail, logistics and strategic investments.
Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), underscored the deep historical ties between Oman and Bahrain, noting that the forum reflects the shared commitment to align Oman Vision 2040 with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. He stressed the pivotal role of the private sector in driving economic development and regional integration, aiming to expand trade, exchange expertise and foster impactful partnerships.
Dr Juma al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman, described the forum as a key platform to deepen cooperation and activate existing agreements between the two countries. He expressed optimism that the discussions would lead to tangible outcomes that strengthen business partnerships and benefit both national economies.
Khalid Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted Bahrain’s economic transformation towards a diversified, innovation-driven model. He reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations and the leaders’ shared vision to advance integration and development.
Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, Chairman of the Omani Bahrain Investment Company, revealed plans to invest in tourism, mining, food security, manufacturing, IT and artificial intelligence, with operations set to begin early next year.
The forum also featured a dialogue session on the prospects of economic integration and cooperation, with contributions from leading private sector representatives. Bilateral meetings on the sidelines allowed Omani and Bahraini business owners to explore joint ventures, exchange expertise and identify opportunities for SME collaboration. — ONA
