Oman boosts GCC health ties at ministers’ meeting

KUWAIT: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 11th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers’ Committee, held in Kuwait, with the participation of the Ministers of Health of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, on Saturday.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, who emphasised that this meeting represents a new milestone in strengthening cooperation in the health sector among the GCC countries. He highlighted the importance of the topics discussed and the resulting decisions and recommendations that will contribute to building more efficient, resilient and sustainable health systems.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint integration, and advance the health system, thus contributing to improving the quality of life and enhancing health security in the GCC countries.
The meeting discussed the GCC Drug Control Strategy (2025-2026), which represents a collective response to a cross-border challenge that requires integrated efforts to protect youth and safeguard the future of nations.
The meeting also discussed the GCC Public Health Plan (2026-2030), which constitutes an integrated road map focused on prevention, promoting integration and emphasising the concept of health. — ONA
