SUR SNATCH WIN IN INJURY TIME
Sur claimed their first win in the Jetour Cup after defeating Dhofar 1–0 at the Sur Sports Complex in the postponed third-round fixture.
The match began cautiously before Sur imposed their attacking dominance, with Saud al Farsi missing two clear chances in the 14th and 21st minutes. Dhofar almost responded through Abdullah Zahir in the 44th minute, but his header went wide.
In the second half, Sur continued to press and created several opportunities, including a dangerous strike from Yousef Nasser in the 62nd minute. Dhofar’s coach, Hashil Musbah, and team manager Zahir Hardan were both sent off for protesting. In stoppage time, Yousef Nasser delivered the decisive goal in the 94th minute after a well-worked attacking move, securing three valuable points for Sur.
MAMADOU HITS BRACE
Seeb earned a precious 2–1 win over hosts Oman Club in their match at Seeb Stadium.
The home side dominated the first half and were rewarded when Ali al Rashidi opened the scoring in the 45th minute with a powerful shot past goalkeeper Moatasim al Waheibi.
However, Seeb came out stronger in the second half, with their foreign striker Mamadou heading home the equaliser in the 47th minute before scoring again in the 73rd minute with a composed finish inside the box.
Despite Oman Club’s attempts to come back, their player, Yazid al Rawahi, was shown a red card in stoppage time, confirming Seeb’s hard-fought victory and strengthening their position in the competition.
SOHAR EDGE AL RUSTAQ
Sohar managed a tough 1–0 win against Al Rustaq in the postponed third-round clash of the Oman FA Cup.
The match started with intensity from Sohar, who capitalised on a long ball that caught Al Rustaq’s defence off guard, allowing Moayad al Abdulsalam to go through on goal and score in the 8th minute.
In the second half, Sohar played with 10 men after Khalid al Mijaini was sent off in the 60th minute with a red card. Al Rustaq pressed hard to take advantage of the numerical superiority and controlled much of the play, but they failed to convert their chances due to poor finishing and the strong presence of goalkeeper Amjad al Qatiti.
AL SHABAB CRUSH IBRI
Al Shabab delivered an emphatic 4–0 victory over Ibri in their match at Seeb Stadium.
The hosts dominated the game from the outset, with Mohammed al Ghafri heading in the opener in the sixth minute. In the second half, Badr al Alawi doubled the lead in the 55th minute before the foreign striker Maliko Kinyan sealed the win with two consecutive goals in the 62nd and 68th minutes, ending Ibri’s hopes of a comeback.
Ibri tried to respond through Moatasim al Yaqoubi and Bisan Jakos, but their efforts were thwarted by a solid defence and an excellent display from goalkeeper Islam al Hinai.
