MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health on Wednesday organised a consultative session to update the National Policy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases.
The session, which saw the participation of representatives of different sectors, was aimed to ensure comprehensiveness and integration, identify gaps and national priorities and exchange views about standard methods of governance, evaluation, and follow-up mechanisms.
Her Highness Sayyidah Dr Mona bint Fahd al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for International Cooperation at SQU (Chairperson of the National Committee for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases), outlined the progress made by the Sultanate of Oman in the field of non-communicable diseases. She stressed the need to consolidate cooperation and teamwork towards the realisation of the goals of the policy.
Dr Ahmed bin Salim al Mandhari, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning and Health Regulation, gave an overview of the National Policy for Non-Communicable Diseases. - ONA
