Muscat: The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre indicated the possibility of a tropical condition forming in the northeastern Arabian Sea in early October, without any expected direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman’s weather.
The Centre said in a statement issued on Sunday that the period of tropical condition formation may extend between October 1 and 2.
The tropical conditions may develop ranging between medium and high. Weather specialists at the Centre are closely monitoring the developments and will publish the weather updates through its official accounts and media outlets.
The Centre predicts the spread of cumulus clouds over the southeast and southwest Arabian Sea between September 28 and October 2.
This is consistent with the beginning of the second tropical conditions season which occurs on the Arabian Sea and the northern Indian Ocean in October and November following the end of the monsoon season.
Some coastal areas in the Sultanate of Oman witnessed the formation of light clouds on Sunday morning, the Centre said, urging the public to follow official bulletins.
