SALALAH: The ‘Children’s Career Day’ initiative was held at the Sultan Qaboos Culture and Entertainment Complex in Salalah, introducing children to various professions and encouraging them to explore their interests and future career paths.
Nour bint Mohammed al Awad, head of the initiative’s team, said the programme aims to discover the talents of children who will become tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. The event targeted 100 children through a mix of awareness-raising and recreational activities designed to develop skills and foster a sense of care and inclusion.
Organised by Nano Digital in collaboration with the General-Directorate of Social Development in Dhofar Governorate, the initiative featured an exhibition with interactive corners: the Health Corner showcased nurses, doctors and paramedics; the Homeland Protectors Corner simulated firefighting and rescue operations; and the Science Corner offered experiments and mini-sessions in agriculture, astronomy and space.
The Media and Creativity Corner allowed children to present news bulletins, conduct mini-interviews and explore drawing and fine arts. The Entrepreneurship Corner highlighted simplified success stories to encourage ambition, alongside a visual presentation of the Orphan Sponsorship Programme and a panel discussion on supporting children to build confidence and envision their future positively. — ONA
