MUSCAT: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs (MoARA) on Wednesday held an extensive meeting with owners of licensed Haj and Umrah companies in the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting reviewed the latest updates and initiatives for the upcoming Haj season 1447 AH and discussed key observations and indicators from the previous season.
During the meeting, the ministry presented important topics related to the organisation of the Haj season 1447 AH, including new updates and procedural mechanisms to ensure the successful performance of the Haj pilgrimage.
The ministry also implemented a 'Haj Lab' in cooperation with the 'Takatuf' Foundation. The lab's goal is to improve the experience of Omani pilgrims by collecting and analysing data from the Haj season. It organised joint workshops to discuss challenges and new developments and prepared a final report with key improvement opportunities, recommendations and a road map of priorities. This will contribute to developing the management and implementation mechanisms of the Haj season and enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims.
It is worth noting that registration for the Haj pilgrimage for the 1447 AH season will open on 23 September through the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs' electronic system. — ONA
