Oman participates in Kazan International Film Festival

Oman is taking part in the 21st Kazan International Film Festival 'Golden Pulpit', hosted by Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, from September 5 to 9.
A delegation headed by Mohammed bin Abdullah al Ajmi, Chairman of the Oman Film Society, is representing the nation in the jury of the festival, as part of its initiative to make its presence in international forums.
This edition of the festival is witnessing a large turnout, with the festival's administration receiving 845 entrants from 67 countries, confirming its position as one of the most prominent film festivals in the region.
Al Ajmi is participating in the jury for feature and short films, along with prominent film-makers from around the world, including Rasool Pookkuti from India, Oscar winner for Slumdog Millionaire; Egyptian director and writer Magdy Ahmed Ali; Chiomi Ude from Nigeria, founder and director of the Africa International Film Festival; and award-winning Russian director Natalia Gogoeva. Film-makers and technicians from Iran, China, Uzbekistan and the Philippines are participating in the five-day fest.
Al Ajmi expressed his pride in participating in the jury, stressing that representing the Sultanate of Oman at this global event provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with film-makers from around the world, contribute to developing the Omani cinematic experience and support national talent.
Al Ajmi said this participation is a continuation of the Oman Film Society's efforts to build bridges of cultural and creative cooperation with international film festivals and institutions, and consolidate the presence of Omani cinema on the global scene.
