Arab Association for Prosecutors meet in Salalah

SALALAH: The Supreme Judiciary Council, represented by the Public Prosecution, hosted the fifth annual meeting of the Arab Association for Prosecutors in Dhofar Governorate on Tuesday.
The event was attended by a number of public prosecutors and attorneys general from Gulf and Arab nations.
The meeting addressed several key themes, most notably enhancing Arab judicial cooperation to ensure its effectiveness in combating crime, especially cross-border offences. It also focused on exchanging criminal expertise and unifying perspectives to address shared challenges posed by rapidly evolving crime patterns and methods.
The meeting also honoured a number of distinguished professionals from the public prosecutions and attorney general offices of member states. Assistant Public Prosecutor Fathiya al Habsi, Director-General of Execution and Follow-up of Judgements, received the annual award from the Sultanate of Oman.
On the sidelines of the meeting, a specialised seminar on digital currency crimes will be held, focusing on investigation mechanisms for digital currency cases and evidence preservation, with member states sharing their experiences in this field.
Holding this meeting in Oman underscores the active role Oman has played since joining the Arab Association for Prosecutors on November 16 2022. - ONA
