AL MUSANNAH: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Al Musannah welcomed 467 new students enrolled in the Fall Semester of the academic year 2025-2026.
The students are distributed across the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Computing and Information Sciences, and the College of Economics and Business Administration.
Dr Saeed bin Hamad al Rubaie, Vice-Chancellor of UTAS, congratulated the students and emphasised the university’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment that empowers them to succeed and contribute to national development.
Dr Nasser bin Salem al Baimani, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, UTAS Al Musannah, encouraged the students to work hard, manage their time effectively, and make the most of their academic journey to develop both scientific and research skills.


The programme included an introductory presentation on the university’s vision, mission, goals, colleges and departments, along with an overview of the facilities available at Al Musannah branch.
Students were also introduced to academic and administrative regulations, in addition to a motivational session on self-development, capacity building and harnessing potential.
The orientation week also provided a briefing on the General Foundation Programme, covering placement tests, attendance and assessment systems in English, Mathematics and Computing.
Students were also familiarised with electronic platforms, student services, and the significance of entrepreneurship and innovation in their academic journey.
