Musandam Dive Centre earns PADI 5-Star

KHASAB: The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has awarded the Musandam Dive Exploration Centre a 5-Star Dive Resort certification, recognising its commitment to the highest standards of professionalism in dive education and the delivery of world-class tourism services.
This achievement marks a qualitative leap for the centre, elevating its specialised diving training and education programmes while reflecting its dedication to sustainability in the diving industry and enhancing the tourism experience in Musandam Governorate - a leading destination for adventure tourism and marine activities in Oman.
PADI is the world's largest diving training organisation, with over 6,600 dive centres and resorts and more than 128,000 certified instructors across 186 countries and regions.
The organisation is renowned for its high-standard educational programmes, enabling millions of people annually to learn diving and participate in ocean and marine life conservation activities.
Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidy, Governor of Musandam, stated: 'The certification of the Musandam Dive Exploration Centre as a PADI 5-Star Dive Resort solidifies the governorate’s position on the international tourism map.

'This accomplishment builds on Musandam’s successive achievements in the tourism sector, including the remarkable success of the Musandam International Diving Festival, which garnered significant local and international attention. Such milestones highlight the governorate’s unique offerings and reflect the integrated efforts to promote sustainable tourism development in line with Oman Vision 2040.'
Badr bin Mohammed al Shehi, Director of the Musandam Dive Exploration Centre, said: 'Receiving the PADI 5-Star Dive Resort certification is the culmination of years of hard work and adherence to global standards. We are proud to join the global PADI network and aim to deliver exceptional diving experiences that showcase Musandam’s unique natural and marine attractions.
