Mawlid recitation gatherings, where people come together to praise Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), have been gaining momentum since the start of Rabee Al Awwal. The Prophet’s birthday in Oman will be observed on September 5, as announced by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs. The ministry will celebrate the Prophet’s birthday under the auspices of Najeeb bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, on Monday, September 1.
Several programmes have been organised in connection with the Prophet’s birthday under the leadership of various organisations and Quran study centres, involving both citizens and expatriates.
Various programmes, including art performances by students, Burda Majlis, seminars and other activities integrating Islamic arts, will be held in the country in the coming days.
The Prophet’s birthday in Oman holds both cultural and religious significance. Families often gather for prayers, reflections and charitable acts. Communities also prepare to organise cultural activities that highlight the Prophet’s teachings and values.
