RAO commander gets French 'National Order' award

PARIS: The French government has awarded Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the French National Order of the Legion of Honour (Officer’s rank) during his official visit to the French Republic.
The medal was conferred on behalf of the French government by General Pierre Schill, Chief of Staff of the French Army, during a ceremony held at the French Army Headquarters.
The ceremony was held in recognition of Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi’s efforts to consolidate cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic.
The French National Order of the Legion of Honour is one of the highest national decorations in France and is awarded to both French and foreign individuals.
In a speech on the occasion, Maj Gen Matar bin Salim al Balushi expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the French government. He hoped that military relations between the two countries would continue to grow and prosper. - ONA
