Global, Omani voices unite for ‘Power to Dream’ in Muscat

MUSCAT: Three international and eight Omani speakers will converge in Muscat at the end of September to share their perspectives on the power of dreaming big. The Power to Dream thought leadership conference, organised by Black and White Oman in association with BPOS, will take place on September 28. The event, marking Omani Youth Day celebrations, will be hosted by veteran journalist Bikram Vohra. Omani Youth Day is celebrated annually on October 26.
The international lineup includes Chris Gardner, entrepreneur, international best-selling author, and the inspiration behind the popular film Pursuit of Happyness; Chetan Bhagat, India’s bestselling English-language author and motivational speaker; and Laura Dekker, the youngest solo sailor to circumnavigate the globe. The trio will share insights on how they pursued their dreams to achieve remarkable success, offering inspiration to the youth of Oman.
Adding a local flavour, eight Omani speakers will take the stage: Dr Lamya al Haj, academician, coach, researcher, SQU associate professor and founder of a GCC speakers’ platform; Hatim Abdissalaam, motivational speaker, youth influencer and soon-to-be author; Hassan Ali Husain, entrepreneur and founder of Arab Board Games; Noor al Esry, the youngest student speaker in the lineup; Haitham Sulaiman, award-winning film-maker; Mohamed al Khaifi, innovative woodworker; Manasik al Moosawi, AI design expert; and Nooralhuda al Mandhari, adventurer, mountain climber and founder/co-founder of HUN’na and Ghudu. Their talks will add depth and relatability to the “Power to Dream” theme for Omani youth.
Speakers will highlight how dreams, combined with sacrifice, determination, perseverance and grit, paved the way for their success.
