The measure aims to regulate the labour market and help establishments avoid financial penalties.
According to the ministry’s announcement, employers must ensure that at least 75% of their workforce receive wages through the Wage Protection System starting with salaries for September 2025 (payable in October).
Furthermore, compliance levels must rise to 90% of employees starting with salaries for November 2025 (payable in December).
The ministry emphasized that adhering to these requirements is essential for safeguarding workers’ rights and ensuring transparent wage practices in Oman’s labour market.
