To promote the national digital identity, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has launched the 'Trusted Identity' campaign to raise awareness of the Omani domain.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of the Omani domain (.om) and establish trust in Omani digital content on the internet, as it is an official national symbol that reflects Omani identity and enhances its digital presence.
The campaign focuses on highlighting the national and professional dimensions of the Omani domain, including its legal and regulatory advantages and its connection to corporate identity and high reliability.
The domain also contributes to building a digital economy based on business and operational value and increasing the gross domestic product. Citizens and institutions can obtain an Omani identity through officially accredited registration entities. The Authority clarified that the Omani domain is officially managed by it, under an agreement signed with ICANN in 2012.
