Catch them young

The Ministry of Education organised a summer study programme on date palms for students in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate on Friday. The initiative explained the importance of the date palms in Omani society and date harvest seasons. It also included an introduction to aflaj, methods of sharing water, sale of aflaj shares and traditional irrigation time based on stars or 'sawar'. — ONA
