This is a moderate meteor shower, and you may see 20 to 30 meteors per hour if the sky is dark and clear.
The shower happens when Earth moves through dust left by an old comet that scientists aren't exactly sure about. It might be from a group of comets that are no longer active.
These tiny dust pieces hit Earth's atmosphere very fast and create bright streaks of light in the sky.
These meteors seem to come from the Aquarius constellation, which rises in the southeastern sky. The best place to watch is far from city lights, in a dark and open area.
