MUSCAT: Ahli Sidab team secured a sweeping 10-0 victory over Al Nahda in the opening match of the Junior U-18 Hockey League , within the first group competitions, held at the Oman Hockey Complex in Al Amerat.

Ahli Sidab started the game strongly, opening the scoring early in the 3rd minute through player Rashid al Alawi. Despite Al Nahda’s efforts to find an equaliser, both teams exchanged chances until Ahli Sidab doubled their lead in the 14th minute with a goal by Haitham al Wahaibi, ending the first quarter 2-0.

In the second quarter, Al Nahda showed improvement and sought to reduce the gap, but Ahli Sidab maintained their lead, keeping the score unchanged at 2-0 by the end of the quarter.

The third quarter saw Ahli Sidab increase their tally, with Saeed al Fazari scoring the third goal in the 33rd minute. He then added the fourth goal in the 41st minute, ending the quarter 4-0 in favor of Ahli Sidab.

In the final quarter, Al Nahda’s performance dropped noticeably, allowing Ahli Sidab to dominate and control the match. Haitham al Wahaibi scored the fifth goal in the 45th minute, followed by Rashid al Alawi’s sixth in the 46th. The goals kept coming as Saeed al Fazari netted the seventh in the 48th minute, then Anas al Siyabi added the eighth in the 49th, and again in the 50th minute with the ninth. Haitham al Wahaibi completed the goal festival with the tenth in the 52nd minute, sealing a well deserved 10-0 win for Ahli Sidab.



Meanwhile, Masirah also registered a dominant win, defeating Saham 11-0 in the opening match of Group Two, held at Sohar Sports Complex.

The first quarter was balanced, with both teams exchanging attacks. In the 12th minute, Abbas al Noufali broke the deadlock by scoring the opening goal for Masirah. Saham attempted to level the score in the remaining minutes, but the quarter ended 1-0 for Masirah.

In the second quarter, Al Noufali returned to score the second goal from a penalty corner in the 17th minute. Just a minute later, his teammate Al Qasim Said scored the third goal. Al Noufali then completed his hat trick with Masirah’s fourth goal, ending the quarter 4-0.

Early in the third quarter, Al Fadhl al Noufali added the fifth, followed by Abbas al Noufali’s fourth personal and the team’s sixth goal. Masirah continued their dominance as Al Qasim Said scored the seventh in the 42nd minute, ending the quarter 7-0.

In the final quarter, Al Qasim Said scored the eighth goal, followed by another from Abbas al Noufali, making it 9 0. With Sohar struggling, Al Qasim Said completed his hat trick with the tenth goal in the 55th minute. In the final minute, Abbas al Noufali scored the eleventh and final goal, completing Masirah’s emphatic 1-0 win.

The Junior Hockey League continues today (Monday) with three matches in the second round. The first game will see Al Salam face Ahli Sidab at the Sohar Sports Complex. The second match features Seeb against Masirah at Seeb Club’s hockey field. The round concludes with a match between Al Ittihad and Salalah at the Sultan Qaboos Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. All matches will kick off at 5 pm.
