BAKU: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the first joint meeting between the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), being held from July 18 to 19 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation is headed by Zahra bint Mohammed Ridha bin Mohammed al Lawatiyah, Deputy to the Chairman of the State Audit Institution for Audit on Corporations, Investments and Companies.

During the meeting, visual presentations were displayed by the Knowledge Building Committee, the Capacity Building Committee, the Financial and Administrative Affairs Committee; and the Institutional Development Committee. The presentations reviewed the tasks assigned to each committee and ways for developing joint action between ARABOSAI and ASOSAI.

The meeting also reviewed the experiences of supreme audit institutions on the response to climate change through auditing as well as utilising artificial intelligence in auditing.

The Sultanate of Oman’s participation underscores its continued commitment to actively contributing to international efforts to strengthen the principles of auditing and accounting; and to exchanging expertise with counterpart institutions. This supports the development of the financial audit system and contributes to achieving the best practices adopted by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). — ONA
