Muscat: The Oman Meteorology Office said that active northwesterly wind is expected to impact most governorates of the Sultanate of Oman starting from today, Monday, June 23, and continuing to Wednesday evening, June 26.
The prevailing wind activity is expected to cause a rise in dust and sand over desert and open areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility, the Met Office noted.
According to the weather forecast, sea conditions are also expected to be moderate to rough. Wave heights may reach up to 2 metres along the western coasts of Musandam Governorate and up to 1.5 metres in the Sea of Oman.
