HM to visit Spain on Tuesday

Aims to boost bilateral relations towards wider horizons

 
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state visit to the Kingdom of Spain on Tuesday.

A statement was issued by the Diwan of Royal Court to this effect. It reads as follows: “In a manifestation of ties of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Spain, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on a state-visit to the Kingdom of Spain during May 20-22.

The visit, which comes in response to an invitation received by His Majesty from King Felipe VI of Spain, aims to boost the relations of cooperation between the two countries and push them towards wider horizons.

His Majesty’s visit to Spain comes within the context of elevating cooperation between the two countries in various spheres to serve the joint interests and meet their current and future aspirations. The visit will address a set of regional and international developments.

His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanied during the visit by a high-ranking official delegation comprising HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, Dr Hamed bin Said al Aufi, Head of Private Office of His Majesty the Sultan, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and Thamer bin Fayez al Alawi, Ambassador of Oman to Spain.
