In the first months of his second term, President Donald Trump has taken bold steps to solve long-standing global problems. His work on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Ukraine war, and unfair trade shows a practical plan for a more stable world.
Trump's approach to Middle East peace is very different from his predecessor’s. Instead of endless talks that go nowhere, he focuses on building economic ties first, then tackling the harder political issues.
During his Gulf visit, Trump has worked on creating partnerships that could bring lasting peace. What makes Trump's peace efforts truly special is his willingness to talk directly with everyone involved – even groups that previous government wouldn't speak to. His team has opened talks with Iran, with Trump himself saying, 'I think we're going to make a deal with Iran.' He's also reached out to Hamas and made a ceasefire deal with Ansar Allah in Yemen. This openness to speak with all sides creates new paths to peace that simply didn't exist before.
Trump believes that peace and economic growth go hand in hand. He's working with Gulf nations to secure investments that could transform the region. His focus on American interests while pursuing peace has created new chances for breakthroughs that could help every country in the region, including The State of Palestine.
In Ukraine, Trump has taken a fresh approach to end the bloodshed. He appointed Steve Witkoff as his special envoy to help Russia and Ukraine find peace. Trump hasn't been afraid to put pressure on both Moscow and Kyiv, issuing an ultimatum for them to make progress in peace talks. He's also signed an agreement with Ukraine to develop their mineral resources together, showing a long-term commitment to Ukraine's prosperity.
Trump's trade policies, especially his tariffs, respond to what he sees as years of unfair treatment by America's trading partners. In April 2025 he declared a national emergency to address 'the large and persistent trade deficit' caused by unfair trade practices. He's particularly concerned about imbalances with the European Union. Trump's approach is simple: match other countries' tariffs to create a level playing field. For example, he points out that the EU charges 10% on car imports while the US only charges 2.5%.
He's shown flexibility by delaying some tariffs for 90 days to allow time for talks. Trump believes these measures are necessary to protect American workers and reduce the trade deficit. And you can be sure that China and the USA will resolve their trade war to the benefit of both countries. Trump's foreign policy is built on American strength as the foundation for global stability. By tackling long-standing conflicts and trade problems with clear-eyed practicality, he's creating conditions for lasting peace and prosperity. His willingness to talk directly with all parties – even those previously off-limits – offers new hope for peace in the Middle East that could benefit everyone in this region. While challenges remain, Trump's direct approach has created new opportunities where previous efforts failed. His willingness to tackle tough problems head-on gives reason for hope. A foreign policy based on realism, backed by American strength, and open to talking with all sides offers the best path to a safer world. Trump is not a warmonger.
He’s above all a businessman. And for that reason alone we should all be Trump supporters.
