NEW YORK: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, will take part in ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025, due to be held in New York City, from April 14-17. The event is organised under the supervision of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

This year’s forum, titled 'Youth at the Forefront: Harnessing Science and Social Inclusion for Sustainable Development,' aims to explore pathways for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in line with the UN’s 2030 Agenda. It will also highlight global experiences in key areas such as health, sustainable oceans, science and technology, and regional development.

The forum’s sessions will focus on strengthening sustainable economic growth and proposing recommendations to empower youth in actively shaping goals and priorities within sustainable development programmes that align with their aspirations. High-level discussions, led by young participants, will feature dialogues with heads of delegations, representatives of UN member states, and experts in global economic and social policy.

This marks Oman’s third consecutive year of participation, underscoring the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth’s commitment to engaging Omani youth and connecting them with their international peers. The forum serves as a platform to empower youth and expose them to global best practices in comprehensive development and sustainable economic objectives. — ONA
