Three neighbourhoods in Sultan Haitham City begin construction
MUSCAT: Construction work at the Sultan Haitham City (SHC) is progressing rapidly with an increasing number of companies embarking on construction activities. The construction phase began in Al Wafa neighbourhood last year, while development of January Housing and Al Sarooj Oasis neighbourhoods has begun of late.
The construction of Al Naha neighbourhood is expected to start in the second quarter of this year while construction work in the remaining neighbourhoods will commence during the course of this year. The implementation of the infrastructure networks and site preparation will begin as per schedule.
Jamal bin Nasser al Hadi, Media Adviser to the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said: “This year has seen significant progress in the Sultan Haitham City, which translated into the signing of a number of agreements with local and international investors. This reflects growing confidence in the investment environment of the Sultan Haitham City being one of the new urban pillars within Oman Vision 2040.'
'Stemming from a firm belief that urban planning is no longer merely a process of organising spaces, but rather a strategic tool for enhancing quality of life and supporting economic diversification, the authorities are keen on developing an integrated system that streamlines procedures, boosts infrastructure readiness as well as provides a cohesive and advanced investment environment.”
Al Hadi confirmed that the construction phase at the Sultan Haitham City is in full swing. In 2025, a number of partners began field work within the approved neighbourhoods, with support from the executive office for future projects, which is tackling coordination and technical challenges and providing an optimal environment for investors and developers across various packages and sites.
Meanwhile, the investment attraction team continues its efforts to empower investors and facilitate their entry into the city’s real estate market, contributing to the diversity of projects and enhancing development at the city. The progress in implementation will be followed by the signing of a number of new agreements during the current year as part of a comprehensive roadmap to create a smart urban environment and an integrated urban community making the Sultan Haitham City a practical model for future cities in the Sultanate of Oman.
Eng Nasser al Hadrami, Executive Director of Future Projects at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, said: “The Sultan Haitham City is currently witnessing an important phase of implementation as a number of real estate developers have begun field work in the approved neighbourhoods and projects. This step is a natural extension of the planning and preparation efforts accomplished over the past period embodying the transition from concept to actual implementation.”
