SHINAS: The Shinas Municipality Department, under the Al Batinah North Municipality, in collaboration with the Shinas Ghair Voluntary Team, celebrated Eid Al Fitr. The event took place in the courtyard of the historic Shinas Fort, attracting a remarkable turnout of families and children who flocked to enjoy the festive spirit amidst heritage and joy.

The event, which ran from 5 pm to 10 pm over the two days, witnessed enthusiastic engagement from attendees. The programme featured a variety of entertainment, competitions, and thrilling activities that created a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere throughout the wilayat. Among the highlights were impressive circus performances that captivated the audience, along with cultural and physical competitions offering incentive prizes to participants of all ages. Children especially had their share of fun with a dedicated play area and face-painting activities that brought colourful and joyful touches to their faces. The fire and laser shows dazzled the audience, adding a unique visual dimension to the event, particularly with the majestic Shinas Fort as a stunning backdrop, transforming the venue into an open-air stage for interaction and celebration.

In a statement to Oman Observer, Haitham al Miyasi, member of the Municipal Council and head of the Shinas GhairVoluntary Team, expressed his delight at the large turnout and enthusiastic participation from Shinas residents and visitors.

“This reflects the community’s eagerness for such social initiatives that strengthen bonds and foster a sense of belonging,” he said. “Choosing Shinas Fort as the venue gave the celebration a distinctive character, blending joy and heritage into a beautiful national tableau.” He added, “At Shinas Ghair, we work passionately and deeply believe in the value of volunteerism and its role in making a difference. This event was not just an entertainment show but a space to renew social ties and reinforce the presence of community teams as active partners in the development landscape of the wilayat.”

Al Miyasi further explained that over the past weeks, close coordination had taken place with Shinas Municipality, official and private partners, and volunteers, who played the biggest role in organising, preparing, and supervising the event. “We thank them all and affirm that the best is yet to come, as we have plans for future events that will engage all segments of society, whether on religious or national occasions.” He concluded with a message to the youth of the wilayat: “Volunteering is not just a way to spend time; it’s a meaningful message that impacts society and contributes to building individuals. At Shinas Ghair, we always welcome those who wish to participate and create.”
