MUSCAT: The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) launched the Omani Crafts House platform on Thursday. This platform specialises in displaying, marketing and selling contemporary and modern products from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and artisans to promote products through this outlet.
The platform, an online store, was launched under the auspices of Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism. It aims to provide business opportunities for SMEs and artisans, and create new marketing opportunities for companies to sell their products through the platform without any registration fees or interest on sales transactions. It also enables SMEs to market their products and deliver them to a wide range of interested parties, contributing to increasing their sales and enhancing their presence on local online platforms.
The platform is managed by one of the Authority's incubated small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Kishk. The platform also provides a delivery service through Nol Delivery, another SME. Furthermore, the registration on the platform requires the business to be registered with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the products offered must be locally sourced, of high quality, and feature distinctive packaging.
Haitham bin Abdullah al Balushi, CEO of Kishk, said: 'The platform, which specialises in trade, will help entrepreneurs market and promote their products by creating new marketing opportunities for businesses in an easy and convenient way, without any fees in which that the number of registered beneficiaries has reached approximately 54 so far, with this number set to increase in the coming period in line with the platform's marketing plan. We are working in cooperation with the Authority to assist traders, entrepreneurs and craftsmen.' The platform targets SMEs specialising in various activities, including craft products, handicrafts, personal care and beauty products, perfumes and incense, fashion, men's and women's accessories, jewellery, and more.
The platform provides a dedicated control panel for each business. What distinguishes it is that support for a multi-vendor system, allowing each business to sell its products and manage its inventory, with the ability to easily track sales and reports through the platform, and to have full control over available products and monitor inventory status at any moment.
It also provides each institution with an electronic wallet linked to the institution's account, in addition to providing multiple electronic payment solutions and payment via accounting.
