Muscat: The celebration of Omani Teacher’s Day, marked each year on February 24, is a tribute, appreciation and confirmation of the active and continuous role teachers play in the educational process.

They are the main drivers in the educational system, instilling values of citizenship, tolerance and community service in the youth from the time they enter school until they graduate. Teachers guide students on the right path to create a knowledgeable, cultured and socially aware generation capable of contributing to the advancement of the country in all aspects of life, present and future.

The number of educational professionals in government schools in Oman has reached 74,316 teachers and administrators, with a growth rate of about 3.1 per cent over the past five years (2020-2024). In private schools, there are 22,539 teachers and administrators in 1,223 private schools.
