MUSCAT: A delegation of educators and students from Unesco-affiliated schools in Croatia is currently visiting Unesco-affiliated schools in Oman, as part of a twinning programme aimed at fostering cultural exchange and educational collaboration. The visit, which runs until February 27, includes activities such as attending classes, exploring Omani heritage and engaging in discussions on topics such as climate change, technology and student entrepreneurship.

The programme promotes mutual understanding, tolerance and respect between cultures, enhancing educational practices and celebrating shared international values. It also includes visits to key Omani landmarks like the Oman Across Ages Museum and the Royal Opera House Muscat.

During the 2023-2024 academic year, Oman’s Unesco schools have partnered with institutions in countries including Brunei, Greece, Palestine, Denmark, the UK, the US, Poland and Qatar. These initiatives, facilitated by video communication, aim to strengthen educational ties and enrich the students’ learning experiences on a global scale. — ONA
