MUSCAT: The Industry Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) convened its first meeting of 2025 in Muscat, focusing on strategies to boost national industries and enhance the global competitiveness of Omani products.
Key discussions included improving the industrial business environment by revising legislation and providing facilities that enable local manufacturers to expand and increase productivity. The committee emphasised the need for more flexible policies, investment incentives and the adoption of modern technology to stimulate industrial growth.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen the sector’s contribution to the national economy, aligning with Oman Vision 2040’s economic diversification goals.
Tawfiq bin Abdul Hussain al Lawati, Chairman of the Industry Committee, highlighted the necessity of supporting and protecting Omani products to ensure their global reach. He noted that the meeting also addressed major challenges facing Omani industrialists in both local and international markets. — ONA
