IBRA: The head coach of Oman national football team, Rasheed Jaber, announced a 26-member Oman squad for the domestic preparatory camp which will take place in Muscat on Saturday and will run until March 3. The local gathering is part of the team’s plan to gear up for South Korea and Kuwait matches on March 20 and 25 respectively as part of Group B games in the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26.

The new squad featured participation of many new faces to Red Warriors list including three players from first division league like: Issa al Nabi and Mundher al Wahaibi (Muscat club) beside Ridhwan al Siyabi from Samayil club. The squad comprised also from five players from Al Shabab club including: Majid al Saadi, Khalid al Buraiki, Yousef al Malki, Mohammed al Ghafri and Hatim al Roushdi. Seeb players were excluded from this camp as they are gearing up to represent the country in the AFC Challenge League 2024/2025 when they will meet Kuwait’s Al Arabi SC on March 5 and 12.



During the camp, Oman will play one friendly match against Niger on March 3 at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Niger team will hold a camp in Muscat during the first week of March which will be inline to the holy month of Ramadhan and the preparatory match will be played in a night during Ramadhan.

The Red Warriors will aim to bounce back strongly in the qualifiers after their defeat against Iraq by 1-0 in last November through a goal scored by Youssef Wal Amyn. Oman will face a challenging away fixture against group leaders South Korea in Seoul on March 20 and five days later they will meet Kuwait in Kuwait city.
