IBRI: Members of the Omani-Saudi Business Council visited Al Dhahirah Governorate to explore investment and trade opportunities in the governorate. They were received by Najeeb bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, along with walis, members of the Majlis Ash’shura and Municipal Councils and several officials from both sides.
During the meeting, the Governor highlighted Al Dhahirah’s strategic advantages, including its historical significance, natural resources and proximity to the Saudi border. He also outlined key development projects and investment opportunities in the governorate. A visual presentation by ‘Obaz’ showcased the integrated special economic zone in Ibri, emphasising its potential as an industrial and logistical hub with attractive incentives for investors.
The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) provided an overview of targeted sectors, digital infrastructure and investment benefits of Ibri Industrial City. Presentations also covered major projects such as Ibri View, Al Safa Resort, and initiatives by Al Dhahirah International Development and Investment Company.
Council members toured several key sites, including the Ibri View Project and active quarry and mining locations, which offer promising investment prospects.
Ibrahim bin Yousef al Zadjali, Director of the Al Dhahirah Integrated Economic Zone Development Project, emphasised the zone’s role in fostering Omani-Saudi economic collaboration. He highlighted recent tenders for a dry port and veterinary quarantine over a four-square-kilometre area, along with infrastructure projects such as main roads and water drainage systems.
This visit follows the recent Omani-Saudi Business Forum in Muscat, which focused on strengthening trade, investment and private sector partnerships between the two countries.
The delegation concluded the visit with further site inspections, reaffirming Al Dhahirah’s appeal as a hub for industrial and mining investments. - ONA
